Vegas Trip

Last Saturday H and I went to Vegas for a poker tournament.  It was his first tourney so he was very excited.  He wanted me to join too but I'm a mess with cards..I have no clue what is a better hand...full house...flush...straight...whatever I'm lost.  So I just stick around for the beginner ones, the slots.  All you have to do is press the button. How easy! haha Anyways going back, we left around 6:30 in the morning...Vegas is like 3.5 to 4 hours drive from here so we got there around 10:30..then the game started at 11:00.  It was at MGM Grand.  Althroughout I just waited on one of the slot machine, the Gold Fish game (dunno the name of the machine but the main character is the gold fish)  and it was pretty good my 20 bucks lasted like a good hour and a half and I gained 200..however later on the machine got it back so it wasn't actually bad a long time of entertainment and broke even, I was contented.

In the evening, we went to Palazzo to watch The Jersey Boys.  It's a musical show about Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons.  We saw this before in LA with friends but we were seated too far back the we can't see the faces of the artist so H wanted to see again plus his brother, sis in law and their friends wanted to watch a show.  I like the show.  It's very entertaining and most songs are the ones we usually hear on the radio but just didn't know that they were sang by Frankie Valli.  I'm not gonna name any songs so that when you guys see it you'd be surprised.  It has a Italian Mafia feel to it.  You'll know why when you see it. =)  It's one of my fave shows.  I was too tired last Saturday that I thought I'd be sleeping while watching since I already saw it...but to my surprise I still enjoy it.  =) But one thing is for sure I love the LA production better than Vegas.  I guess the setting is more spacious in LA and the surround sound was great.  In Vegas kindda rough but it was alright.  Still enjoyable.

After the show we went to Morel's Steakhouse.  I had a 8 oz. Filet Mignon.  H had the 18 oz Bone In Ribeye.  I love my steak, so tender and tasty.  But I still love Ruth's Chris Cowboy Ribeye best. =)  It was a fun day all in all and the highlight of the night...as what H always brag about ;P ...He saved my day!  After dinner we went to play some more slots and... I lost.  Good thing H won my money back with his all or nothing bet at Russian roulette!  Very scary I'm telling ya!  600 bucks depends on the dice!  Heart Attack!  Good thing luck was on our side, we went home happy! =)  Moral of the story...  don't stay too long on the slot machine!  The house will get ya! ;)

Update!

I haven't been updating my blog for awhile because I've been super busy especially last weekend.  H and I went to Vegas for a poker tournament.  It's his first time to join  his brother and sister in law so he was very excited.  It was a fun trip but super tiring too because we left soo early in the morning of Saturday and went back home Sunday after lunch.  The traffic was heavy going back so we were back at home around 630 pm.  Anyways, I already got my purse insert from the mail.  Two of them, so going to show you guys later.

Handmade Goodies Site

I love purses! But it is so hard to keep it organized. That's why I've been searching for a purse organizer insert and I've gone through a lot of sites. However I can't seem to find the one that suits my taste and needs..then I remembered the site I read about long time ago. It's an online arts and crafts community that buys and sells unique stuff and I was not a bit disappointed. I found the perferct purse insert! =) I'm sooo happy. You guys should check it out. It's www.etsy.com .They have so many stuff that is so unique and most importantly most are handmade..not mass produced via machine or something like but made with care and love =) I know...cheesy! But don't we like products that are unique and well crafted? =) Anyways, about my quest for the purse organization insert...I have a problem with digging my stuff on my purse especially my cell phone and ca key. It is such a nuisance to waste time looking for something that you know it's there but just have to take time to pull it out. Like digging on a black hole??? Anways I'm sooo happy I found it. And also one cool thing is that you can change your purse without any hassle. Just take out the insert and put it in your purse of the day and voila you don't have to take out all your stuff one by one! I actually got three items but going to give one to a friend who got a new signature purse last August. I can't wait to get it from the mail! I'll update you guys once I get it. =)
Here's an example of what I got, not the same pattern though but you get the idea ;)

Just roll it up and insert in your purse! Nice and easy!

Skin Update and Haul 2: La Mer, drugstore lippies

I'm back! Finally my skin is so much better. It is less dry and dull. Guess I just have to pack on more moisturizer to replenish my skin's moisture. I've been doubling the amount I use morning and night time. I felt like my face is soooo shiny and greasy especially at work. Guess now I can lessen the amount I use since my skin is not as parched as before ;) Aside from putting on tons of moisturizer, I drink more water than I used to. I'm not really a water person I like sugary drinks better but sugar is actually very bad for you. So I really have to change my habit, less rounds to starbucks and more consumption of green tea! I just have to keep on doing this regularty until it becomes a habit. What the heck! For a healthy skin it is not so hard after all! =) I've been doing this for a week now...so far so good! Anyways, the weather is sunny and warm now here in socal after how many days of light drizzle and cold air. I like warm weather but not hot! Anyways, today I picked up from the mall this famous skin care line I've been wanting to try for so long but just had to stop myself cause it's too much $$$. However because of my skin problem I bit the gun and got it. So...here it is!
The Entourage!

L-R: the spf 18 fluid tint, the cleansing fluid, the tonic, the lip balm, moisturising cream, the eye concentrate

Can't wait to try these out!

And also yesterday I went to CVS and Walgreens. Usually every week they Justify Fullhave promo for buy 1 get 1 on certain products. CVS had bogo for Revlon and Walgreens for Maybelline. I picked up these items.

L to R: Maybelline Superstay Gloss in Glass Rose, Maybelline Superstay Lipcolor in Coral, Revlon Matte in Nude Attitude, Revlon Matte in Fabulous Fig, Maybelline Colorsensational in Pink Please and Maybelline Colorsensational in Hooked on Pink

Swatches:

I'm very impressed with these products! =) They are very pigmented and no nasty or plasticky scent on them. I heard there are some nasty ones you just have to choose well or better yet "sniff" them. The Nude Attitude...I have to give it another shot I guess, it washes me out, so we'll see, the bf not too fond of it either, he keeps on asking me why I want to erase my lips. Men! Needs more beauty education I guess! =) hehe

So that's it! =) Have to get ready now for my friend's son's 5th birthday celebration. Have a good weekend guys! Keep Safe!

Fall...

It is starting to get cold here in Califonia. It is fall season already...meaning cardigans, sweaters, purples, plums, falling leaves and... dry skin!!! I have combination skin, oily t-zone and dry cheeks. Lately it has been extra dry that it starts to flake especially around the jaw area and it is driving me nuts! I haven't used any new products lately especially with my skin care so I'm assuming it has to do with the weather. Anyhow, I'm planning to change my cleanser and moisturizer because lately the ones I'm using aren't helping my skin condition at all. I have a hard time concealing the dryness in fact it is even emphasized if I wear any type of foundation. Lately I'm just sporting a tinted moisturizer and put Clinique Moisture Surge on top of the dry areas... but still dry! =( I'm planning to do a tutorial for the Too Faced palette but I guess I have to wait until my skin is calm enough or else I'll scare you guys away. Anyways, I'll see you guys later!

Flaky! Me no Likey! =(

Review 1: Too Faced Glamour To Go Pocket Palette

I've had this palette for awhile and just never had the chance to use it. It was sitting inside my desk and I was like..."I have so many palettes that I don't think I'll ever use it, I'll just keep it and give it to someone else as a present." However, one day when I was organizing stuff I saw it again and decided to check the colors inside, Lo and behold, clumsy as I am, while opening the case, I made a big dent on one of the lip gloss so..no turning back, time to use it! And..I'm very happy! It's a very versatile pocket palette that I think will always travel with me!

Pros:
1. Eyeshadows are very pigmented and easy to blend. There's a good matte highlight eyeshadow that balances the shimmery ones. Awesome lid and crease colors.

2. Blush is perfect to pair with any colors.

3. Can create different type of looks from day to night in this one small palette.

4. No nasty scent or taste especially with the glosses.

How tiny!

Cons:
1. Material for packaging is a little bit flimsy...be careful not to drop it...not sure how it will withstand trauma...=(

2. A little bit pricey..$19.50. for a small palette..but to compensate...every product is worth it! ;)

Swatches:
These are without base...

I actually love Too Faced Cosmetics products... I think their product is awesome and very high quality. Very soft and buttery that makes application a breeze. I am also a fan of their bronzer..review coming up soon! So....

Overall Rating: 4/5
